Local Pilots of Smart DER Technologies: Information for T&D Planning
The Renewable Energy Trust of the MTC is working with interested Massachusetts Distribution Companies and others to develop two or more Congestion Relief Pilots, each of which would include prototype installations of renewable DG and other distributed energy resources in a specific location on the distribution company’s T&D system. More information:
EPRI has been leading a DER Public/Private Partnership for several years. A new phase of this work is now developing pilots in Massachusetts and California, with many stakeholders and with STAC funding through Massachusetts DOER: "Creating and Demonstrating Incentives for Electricity Providers to Integrate Distributed Energy Resources (DER)." More information:
Additional information is listed below with a focus on pilots of smart distributed energy technologies and their benefits to the T&D system. These files are listed by date and are pdf unless otherwise noted. Many of these documents are also included in a more comprehensive list of reports on technical issues for DG and distribution planning. You may also search the documents listed on this web page and the other MTC DG Collaboration pages by clicking here and changing the first word(s) in Google's search box.
