The $125,000 Ignite Clean Energy Business Presentation Competition invites the public to register now to see ten exciting new clean energy businesses pitched by leading Massachusetts-based entrepreneurs to a team of industry-expert judges.

These teams have been selected from nearly 40 groups developing the next generation of businesses offering clean, renewable, or efficient energy products or services.

Keynote Speaker: Robert K. Lifton, Chairman & CEO, Medis Technologies Ltd.
Welcoming Remarks:  Dr. L. Rafael Raif, Provost, MIT

Finalists:

  • BiOctane - biodiesel/ethanol/hydrogen refinery
  • Feed Resource Recovery – recycling food waste into fertilizer and fuel
  • Hydrophen (Harvard Team)- high-purity hydrogen production
  • NatEl – high-efficiency hydropower
  • Oceanwind Technology, LLC – floating platforms for deep sea wind farms
  • Phototaxis Solar – solar-panel canopies for parking lots
  • Radiant Apparatus – portable solar-powered multi-tool for disaster relief and camping
  • Solasta (The Eagle Axis) – nanoscale technology for ultra high efficiency solar cells
  • Stellaris Corporation – solar technology using passive concentrating optics
  • Synergetic Power Systems   parabolic concentrating solar collector systems

Volunteers Needed for May 9 Finals & Awards


Tasks include hanging banners, placing tent-cards, registration, ushering, and other logistical assistance. The role of “Presentation Time-Keeper” is already filled.
