Step 3. Estimate Grant

Funding is available for Site Assessments (public projects only), Feasibility Grants, and Design & Construction grants.
Non-Public entities have a 20% cost share associated with the grant. Public Entities do not have a cost share requirement for costs incurred below the maximum available funding level.

Design & Construction Grants per Turbine (Block 2)

The Design and Construction grants are dependent on the entity applying, the size of the wind turbine(s), and the total capacity of the project. Design grants are capped at 20% of the total grant amount. Non-Public entities have a 25% cost share associated with the grant. Public Entities do not have a cost share requirement for costs incurred below the maximum available funding level.  If the cost exceeds the grant amount, awarded Public Entity Applicants will be responsible for all additional costs.

Community-Scale Wind grants are designed to financially assist renewable energy projects, but do not cover 100% of total project costs.

Projects that request funding less than they are eligible for, and are still deemed practical and feasible, will score higher during the selection process compared to similar proposed projects.
