Project Overview:
Cooley Dickinson Hospital plans to install a 230 kW Advanced Biomass Combined Heat and Power generation system at its Northampton Hospital site. The proposed location is adjacent to the hospital’s existing woodchip-fired boiler building. The tentative design will include placing one 230 kW turbine and associated equipment within the new boiler building in the boiler room. It is proposed that the turbine shall interface with the electrical distribution system at the new substation that will be installed in the Wood Chip Boiler Plant. The project is expected to be complete by January 2008 at a total project cost of roughly $550,000.
