About the Maverick Gardens Photovoltaic System

The Maverick Gardens photovoltaic (PV) system was designed by Solar Design Associates Inc. of Harvard, MA and was installed by Lighthouse Electrical Contracting, Inc. of Pembroke, MA, in September 2004. The system was commissioned in February 2005.

The PV system is installed on a custom rack-style steel mounting system. The entire array is comprised of 112 RWE Schott Solar® 330W modules for a total array DC rating of 37.0kW. Fourteen SMA® Sunny Boy 2500W inverters interface the PV system to the building's power distribution system, where all electricity is used immediately within the building or sold back to the electrical utility.

The system is monitored with a National Instruments® Data Acquisition System which was also designed and installed by Solar Design Associates.
