Statewide Policies
A number of statewide policies are critical to the development of clean energy. Some are designed to increase or facilitate clean energy development directly, while others focus on issues such as air pollution and climate change, for which clean energy is one solution. Both types of policies are helping to expand the role of clean energy in the state.

Policy Organizations
A number of state agencies and other organizations have important roles in developing policies relating to the development, interconnection, operation, purchase, and use of renewable resources and clean energy technologies in Massachusetts.
Focused Policies
Policies, standards, and codes are developed and applied to encourage and/or regulate the use of individual renewable energy technologies. Additional building codes and standards promote and impact green building and energy efficiency practices in the building industry.
