Clean energy is one of the easiest ways for individual electric customers to support local development of renewable energy. When you buy clean energy, you pay a slight premium on your electric bill to support existing or new clean energy projects. Depending upon where you live, you may have different options for purchasing clean energy.

Help Your Community and the Environment

The Renewable Energy Trust provides a unique program where you can purchase clean energy while helping your community and low-income communities around the state. For each dollar that you spend on a participating clean energy program, the Trust will provide up to a dollar to your community and up to a dollar to a low-income community in Massachusetts to purchase clean energy technologies and resources.
