Without question, Massachusetts and New England are world-class leaders in invention and innovation in the Information Technology arena. This region’s competitive advantage is anchored by a formidable concentration of prestigious firms and higher education and research institutions. The Innovation Institute has been tapped by the Commonwealth’s Executive Office of Housing and Economic Development to work with industry leaders and other stakeholders to help organize and support a collaborative framework for the IT sector in Massachusetts.
The vision for an IT Collaborative is to foster cross-cluster cohesion and create a shared identity, thereby helping to cultivate entrepreneurship and sparking new business formation. The Collaborative will help organize and contribute to the IT community’s energy and creativity in order to inform policymakers during these tumultuous economic times and compete relentlessly for new investment and enhanced growth opportunities for existing firms.
